The above sketch shows the same sunspot as the previous three sunspot sketches. North is up; and preceding is to the left in this mirror-reversed view.The thin clouds were too thin to be noticed through the telescope as silhouetted forms against the bright sun.

Wonderful sketches. I didn't realize they weren't photographs until I read the text around them. Nicely done.
