Seeing conditions improved enough from earlier this morning to allow
a sketch to be made of the large sunspot that was mentioned in my previous post. It's worth pointing out that this sunspot's umbra had a boundary consisting of a multitude of "spikes" sticking out radially into the spot's penumbra -- as shown in the sketch. North is up. Preceding (west) is to the left.
